Working with published items

The idea behind items is to provide administrators with a generic and powerful way of creating, managing and presenting content or data on a website. Additionally, an item-based structure provides editors with an easy-to-use editorial interfacedesigned for their business needs.

Pay special attention to the item type fields available to you — these will give you a very hands-on idea of what you can do with items. Since items are so flexible, a comprehensive document detailing all the different ways you can work with items is impossible.

To give you, the implementer, a toolbox with which you can do almost everything you want with content. In that light, the following document will be limited to showing you how to do concrete, basic things with items, such as:. If your license type allows only for a limited number of pagesbe aware that item based pages are not exempt from this limi t, and will count as part of your total number of pages.

If you have an item type created, which is enabled for pages, you will be able to create item based pages containing the fields from that item type. In the page footeryou will see a number next to the page ID — in this case 2. This means that this is the second page built with this particular item type.

You can set the default view of a new created item to be either the item-view or the paragraph view. Read more here. If you delete the item type a page is created from, all pages based on that item type will be deleted. Read more about deleting item types.

Read more about modifying your templates to render item field content in the Implementing section of this document. You can set default templates for your item types. If you have an item type created, which is enabled for paragraphs, you will be able to create item based paragraphs containing the fields from that item type. You can now work with the paragraph in a regular manner, filling out the fields of your item type.

You cannot add item-based paragraphs to an item-based page. Well, you can — but not in this manner. Rather, use item specific item fields, such as the Link to item field, Item type field or Item list field. Read more about item type fields.

Stack Overflow for Teams is a private, secure spot for you and your coworkers to find and share information. I have a class conforming to the ObservableObject protocol and created a subclass from it with it's own variable with the Published property wrapper to manage state.

It seems that the published property wrapper is ignored when using a subclass.

Does anyone know if this is expected behaviour and if there is a workaround? Here is an example of what I'm seeing. If you remove the property wrapper from the subclass, and call the baseclass objectWillChange. I hope this is something that will be fixed in future releases as the objectWillChange. This is because ObservableObject is a protocol, so your subclass must conform to the protocol, not your parent class. From my experience, just chain the subclass objectWillChange with the base class's objectWillChange like this:.

This is the problem. I can finally answer my question too! Is it a bug? There is another requirement to make this answer work: The base class needs at least one Published var, otherwise objectWillChange. ColinMasters ColinMasters 6 6 silver badges 18 18 bronze badges.

When creating a visual, Power BI only shows relevant data when creating a visual to properly manage how data is presented and displayed. Power BI determines which data is relevant based on the configuration of the visual, and the underlying data model. This article describes how Power BI behaves when determining relevant data, with examples that illustrate how determinations are made.

To get started understanding how Power BI determines which data is relevant to display, let's consider a table as a simple example. Using the model represented in the example data model section, found at the end of this article, consider building a table with the following settings:.

In this example, Power BI displays only combinations that exist. The condition that determines which combinations exist is the value for Sum Sales[Quantity] not being blank. Since there is no explicit measure and the two tables are directly related, Power BI attempts to inject a measure to constrain the combinations that result.

The sample model doesn't have this combination, but if there were groups from different and unrelated tables, Power BI would not be able to relate two columns. The result would be a crossjoin of all the values of each column. In that situation, Power BI issues an error of type unconstrained joinbecause such cross joins are expensive to compute in the database, and do not provide very much information to a user.

The previous section described how Power BI determines which data is relevant to display. But there may be times when you want to show items with no data. The Show items with no data feature enables you to do exactly that - include data rows and columns that don't contain measure data blank measure values. To enable the Show items with no data feature select a visual, then in the Fields well, right-click the field and select Show items with no data from the menu that appears, as shown in the following image:.

The Show items with no data feature does not have effect in the following circumstances:. The most interesting use cases of Show items with no data are when measures are present.

Let's look at the situation when the groups are from the same table, or can be related through a path in the model. For example, ProductStyle is directly related to Product and indirectly related to SalesProductStyle and ProductCategory can be related through the Product table, and so on.

Let's look at a couple interesting cases, and compare when Show items with no data is off and then on. Notice how two new combinations showed up with the feature turned on: Blue - Large and Red - Large.

Both of those entries have no corresponding Quantity in the Sales table. However, they show up in the Product table. Notice how Gloss-Red and None, blank appeared as combinations. Here is the reason they appeared:. It's important to note that the mechanism of selecting values for the columns is order-dependent, and can be thought of as a Left outer join operation between tables.

If the order of the columns is changed, the results will change as well. Let's look at an example of changing the order, and how it impacts results. This is the same as item 2 in this section, with the ordering changed.

Then for each color, Power BI selected the corresponding Finish values that contained data. Since None does not show up in any combination of Colorit is not selected. When Show items with no data is enabled on one field in a visual, the feature is automatically enabled for all other fields that are in that same visual bucket or hierarchy. For example, on a Matrix visual with four fields in the Rows bucket, if one field has Show items with no data enabled, all items in the matrix will have it enabled. If you want to organize your messages in Outlook on the web, you can create new folders or rename, move, or delete existing folders.

This section discusses how to deal with specific file and folder manipulation tasks using PowerShell.

You can get all items directly within a folder by using Get-ChildItem. Add the optional Force parameter to display hidden or system items. For example, this command displays the direct contents of Windows PowerShell Drive C which is the same as the Windows physical drive C :. The command lists only the directly contained items, much like using Cmd.

In order to show contained items, you need to specify the -Recurse parameter as well. This can take an extremely long time to complete. To list everything on the C drive:. Get-ChildItem can filter items with its PathFilterIncludeand Exclude parameters, but those are typically based only on name.

You can perform complex filtering based on other properties of items by using Where-Object. The following command finds all executables within the Program Files folder that were last modified after October 1, and which are neither smaller than 1 megabyte nor larger than 10 megabytes:. Copying is done with Copy-Item. If the destination file already exists, the copy attempt fails.

To overwrite a pre-existing destination, use the Force parameter:. Folder copying works the same way. You can also copy a selection of items. The following command copies all. You can still use other tools to perform file system copies. For example, you can use the Windows Script Host Scripting. Creating new items works the same on all Windows PowerShell providers.

If a Windows PowerShell provider has more than one type of item—for example, the FileSystem Windows PowerShell provider distinguishes between directories and files—you need to specify the item type. When using the Force switch with the New-Item command to create a folder, and the folder already exists, it won't overwrite or replace the folder. It will simply return the existing folder object.I'm new to powerapps and developing my first app I have form using a SQL server table as a data source.
