RetroPie 4.6 Install on a Raspberry Pi 4 - Full Pi 4 Setup in 12 minutes - Tutorial + Game-play!
I don't think this is possible by default in RetroArch if your controls are seen as joystick input, but if they are read as keyboard input, you can map the individual keys to whatever controls you like. If this is important to you and your controls are read as joystick input, you could keymap the controls to be seen as keyboard input using something like xboxdrv.
I will try it and i will give a feedback if it works. I jus posted my own similar problem just know before I came across yours, I have the exact same setup with the exact same issue so your input would be appreciated. The guide shows how to add an xboxdrv mapping on a per game basis, or for an entire emulated system.
I solved using a keyboard encoder like ipac2 instead of two separated gamepad encoders. Have to supply headers but I think it is a great solution, possibly cheaper.
